Our Montessori System

Montessori philosophy is a child-centered developmental education method, based on theories of child development originated by Italian educator, Maria Montessori (1870-1952). Montessori is an education philosophy and practice that fosters rigorous, self-motivated growth for children and adolescents in all areas of their development, with a goal of naturing each child’s natural desire for knowledge, understanding and respect.

In foundation years, our classes are active and you will notice an interactive environment where the students are involved in small groups or individual activities. The equipment they use, was largely deigned by Maria Montessori, to develop child’s concentration, co-ordination and independence.

The students are given freedom within a structured environment to choose activities of their own interest and to work with the materials as long as they need. Every activity in our classrooms is designed for a specific purpose. Specially designed Montessori activities help the child’s development of their sensory, numeric, language, scientific and practical skills.

In order to fully understand a word or concept, they need to experience with their senses; i.e. to touch, to move, to manipulate, to smell, to taste and to construct. All Montessori activities make child proactive, through ”Hands-on” Activities. Teachers closely monitor each individual with kindness and gentleness, facilitating then and their learning rather than entraining them or telling them what to do. In our classrooms, mistakes are a way of learning. ” HOW COULD I MAKE THIS WORK?” is the query which keeps our children busy and motivated. Our school develops their self-esteem and self-respect. Children who feel self-respected, naturally learn to respect other as well. Peer Learning is the essence of such learning.

How we are different?

At THE QUAID-E-AZAM MONTESSORI SCHOOL SYSTEM, we have core beliefs as educators, which are listed below:

THE QUAID-E-AZAM MONTESSORI SCHOOL SYSTEM maintains a commitment to the founding principles and philosophies of Montessori education.

All children have an innate drive and ability to learn. The educational community should follow the child and meet each child’s needs.

Each child has a preferred learning style and progresses at an individual rate. The teacher must assess the child in an ongoing way and facilitate growth by challenging the learner.

The role of the teacher is to facilitate learning in a safe, secure, stimulating environment that promotes freedom of choice, encourages trial of new experiences and promotes learning.

A successful educational experience requires participation of the child, parents, teachers and community.

Parental involvement is integral to a child’s academic, social and emotional success.

Each teacher has a commitment to growth that is exemplified by an ongoing personal development both in education theory and practice.

THE QUAID-E-AZAM MONTESSORI SCHOOL SYSTEM seeks to promote environmental stewardship through curriculum elements and through its facility.
